Troop Area

Welcome to Troop 586 Troop area.

We are excited to have you as a member of the Troop 586 family. Below you will find a lot of important information that will help you be successful within our unit. Most of our communication from Leadership to families is done via the email group which you are currently signed up for. Another important information piece is our Troop Calendars. Click on the link below to find out how to access them.

We know joining a Troop is significantly different than being a part of the Cub Scout pack and we hope to try and alleviate some of those concerns here. First, get to know the leaders by clicking on the 'Leaders of Troop 586' below. All of our leaders are volunteers who do not get monetary income for any of the work they do. Each and every one of them give their best within their circumstances to offer a healthy program for our Youth. They are very dedicated and take a lot of pride in their work and enjoy receiving payment in watching the youth of Troop 586 grow to be great citizens of our Community.

After you've gotten to know the leadership take a peek at the Troop 586 Bylaws, under the forms and documents section below. Every family of Troop 586 is expected to read through and understand the Troop's bylaws. It will help you find a lot of success by understanding the expectation of everyone's roles in the Troop.

The 'forms and documents' section is also an important page to become familiar with. You will current medical forms to be filled out every year, a camping checklist, adult leader applications (should you be interested in taking a position as a leader), Class B uniform order forms, and much more.

Every month our committee has a meeting that helps our unit run smoothly, below you find a link to the current meeting minutes. In these meeting minutes are a lot of important updates on everything pertaining to the Troop. These meeting minutes are also shared with the Google groups every month after the meeting.

Lastly, everything in the Troop Area is for the eyes of our Scout families, no one else has access to it, and it can not be shared with outside sources. If there is something you need to be shared please let us know and we can help you get that addressed.

Feel free to look through our website, there is a lot of great success shared here within our History, our Eagle Scouts, our High Adventure program, and soo much more. You can also find a private Facebook group to help communicate with other scouts' families we welcome you to join and share your questions and pictures of our events.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this page, we look forward to allowing your youth to grow, learn, make healthy mistakes and become an independent leader within Troop 586's family.

Sincerely,

Kris Myers
